Roadway & Highway Design

Designing infrastructure to safely and efficiently move people and goods

Providing safe and efficient transportation infrastructure is more challenging today due to limited funding and increasingly complex regulatory processes. Parametrix works with clients to develop solutions that are cost effective and minimize disruption to users and the environment. We incorporate LID, green streets, and complete streets principles to create appealing, safe, and sustainable transportation right-of-ways.

This project provides a multi-lane roadway link from Pioneer to E Main Street with an overpass over the BNSF railroad. The FAST (Freight Action STrategy) corridor project provides a new access point to SR 410 and SR 167, improving mobility for rail and truck freight. Parametrix led the environmental process, design of the roadway and bridge, and managed construction. The road includes four vehicle lanes with gurb, cutter, and sidewalks to accommodate pedestrian and bicycle traffic. A 350-foot-long prestressed concrete girder bridge elevates the roadway over the BNSF rail lines.
